Cookie & Local Storage Notice

This notice explains how Room & Story uses cookies and local storage. The legal entity operating under this trading name and its contact details are identified in our Legal Notice.

What the site uses

Room & Story uses authentication cookies to keep you signed in and protect your account. The authentication method may use Supabase session cookies (names beginning with sb-) and a rs_auth_provider cookie identifying your chosen sign-in route. ChatGPT sign-in and hosting services may set their own necessary authentication or security cookies. Expiry depends on the relevant provider and session configuration.

These storage mechanisms support the service you request. Blocking them can prevent sign-in and saved-project access. You can sign out and clear cookies using your browser’s settings.

Voting on shared designs

When you vote, the first-party rs_share_visitor cookie remembers your choice and prevents repeat votes in that browser. It lasts up to 90 days and is not used for advertising. Shared pages count page opens without requiring an analytics cookie. Clearing the voting cookie removes that browser’s link to its earlier vote.

Preferences and optional cookies

The site stores your chosen language in local storage under room-story-language until you clear it or change your choice. Shopping-country preferences may also be stored locally. A design draft can be held in session storage under room-story-design-draft to preserve your choices during sign-in; the draft is removed when restored to your signed-in studio or when the browser session ends. Its application code does not currently install advertising pixels or third-party behavioural analytics. Optional data-learning permissions are stored against your account and are separate from cookie permission. We will request the appropriate prior choice before adding non-essential analytics or advertising cookies.

External services

Opening external sign-in, checkout or furniture links takes you to another provider’s service, which has its own cookie and privacy notice. Public inspiration imagery may load from an external content-delivery host, which receives connection information such as your IP address. Those requests do not give that host your private saved room photos.
